What heads?

I'm trying to figure out what heads I should swap the current ones I have for.

The engine is a 350, with a 502 Crane Cam, Domed pistons, X rods, mains block is .060 over.

My biggest bottle neck (I think) is the 305 heads that were used on it. They were sent off, port, polished, valve work (from what my brother told me) it cost him around 500 bucks for the entire process.

However, the way I see it they are still 305 econoline heads.

What are some good choices, I know about ANY 350 heads would be better, but I was "told" double humped heads would be a good investment.

Any tips would be great

Re: What heads?

Save your pennies and buy a set of used aftermarket cylinder heads.

Re: What heads?

Double hump heads were great 30 years ago. Today they're old news.

AFR, DART, BRODIX, Edelbrock, RHS, Profilers, JEGS, Summit, Trickflow, and I'm sure there's a couple I missed. You really can't go wrong on aftermarket heads. Edelbrock is probably the "worst" out of all of them, but they're definitely not junk and they can be made extremely potent provided someone works them over.

CC depends on the rest of the motor, particularly what pistons are in the motor now as well as camshaft grind.

Re: What heads?

I will be pulling a set of Pro Comp aluminum heads off of my 350 here in a couple of weeks if you might be interested.. They are a 210cc head with 64cc chambers, 2.02/1.60 valves, 3/8" screw in studs w/guideplates. I've only ran the engine about 300-400 miles since I put the engine in. I know that the Pro Comps have gotten mixed reviews but I've not had any problems with mine.
