almost start time
So, after work Tues I started taking my motor apart for some upgrades. Off came the stock GM cast heads, performer intake, and non CC Qjet, on went pro-filer 195 heads, comp roller rockers, performer rpm, 1" Carb spacer, and good old Holley 750dp. Problems encountered were a few, had to clearance one guide plate just a shade as it was binding the pushrod, then the intake wasn't happy with the block being zero decked and I needed to elongate the bolt holes just a shade. Once the intake gaskets (1206) compressed the alignment is perfect. I broke the check valve off the brake booster and that's really about it. Things I learned, I hate trying to get this car off the ground, its low, there's zero good place to Jack it up, so it takes me forever to get it up. I hate bolting the collecters up for the y-pipe, with hand tools, and the car almost touching my chest, and laying in coolant on cold concrete. I hate trying to get the dist cap on and off cause its close to the firewall. That's about it. I need that check valve and some coolant which I will grab tommorow. And then when i get home will fire it and time it and see how it runs. The car was surprisingly quick with the mildly worked GM heads and a qjet, this should be outstanding lol. Here's a couple pics and thanks for listening..!
