CAR IS ON EMPTY BUT WILL NOT TAKE GAS!
So, over the weekend I began to have a problem with my car.
I know for a fact my car cannot have more than 3 or 4 Gallons in the Tank. When I try to fill up my tank, it will take about half a gallon and then the pump starts to click like its full and the gas just begins to spill back out as if I've overfilled but I know there is no possible way my car has anywhere near a full tank.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I read that something my be clogging the neck so I stuck a coat hanger down there but I got no resistance and It felt as if it went all the way though.
If anybody can help or point me in the right direction, this would be great. I really need to get back on the road.

Re: CAR IS ON EMPTY BUT WILL NOT TAKE GAS!
Is the car stock? Is the charcoal canister still in place and hooked up?
If so it may be the fuel tank vent valve or related issue.

I've seen this vent valve under my car but how do I tell if it's bad?

Read here:

The canister is in the engine compartment.
Look at the pic in the thread link posted above.
