I am planning to purchase a camaro from a private seller, and I cannot verify what kind of trim it truly is. He claims it's a 1987 RS with a 350tpi, and it has t-tops. I can't find any technical data that adds up to his claims. I understand the engine could very well be a swap, but is there a trim of RS that's has t-tops? I.can't find any info on that either. Any help would be appreciated.

 

There wasnt a RS camaro in 87. They would of been called sport coupes in 87. RS didnt come in till 89 which also got the RS badging. Neither car was available with a 350 tpi. Those only came in the Z28s and irocs. All camaros were available with ttops. Regardless of engine or trim.(There are a few exceptions) Having an options sticker is a big help to know what the car is. The VIN will help out too.
