HT817 Lifters?
I have a new in box cam and I was wondering, are these lifters any good? I found them on Summit's website.

Re: HT817 Lifters?
A friend and I just installed a set of those in his 350, along with a Summit 1103 cam. Hoping to first-fire the engine this evening to break-in the new cam / lifters. We used COMP lube instead of the black moly paste, he bought a 5-gallon jug of Quaker State Defy oil with ZDDP in it, and I poured in a small blue bottle of STP additive with ZDDP. Planning on 1500-2000 RPM for 15 minutes, varying the RPM constantly. I'll report back if we wipe a lobe or dish a lifter crown. Or both.

Re: HT817 Lifters?
First-fire got interrupted by fuel-delivery problems, but even so, break-in went well, steady vacuum gauge reading, runs strong, sounds as it should. I'd call these lifters good enough, so far.

Stock replacement SFederal Mogual/Sealed Power lifters.
Fine for a mild rebuild.
Soak them in fresh oil overnight before installing helps.

Dunno about the OP's application, nor your definition of mild, but I must call these results "performance" rather than "stock".

Re: HT817 Lifters?
Not sure what results you are talking about.
Those are stock replacement lifters.
Sure they can work in nonstock applications, but they are likely to pump up in a high rpm application.
