Code 33 34 and 36...fixed.
After a couple of weeks of driving my car with a surge in power in the mid rpm range I had enough of my car running like ****. Some times the cel would turn on sometimes it wouldn't. It would give me variations in what code it would give, but it was always either a 33, 34 (MAF sensor high/low) or a 36(MAF sensor burn off relay) some times all at once, sometimes 33 and 34, or 33 and 36 or 34 and 36. FML this was irritating. I checked all the wiring with the GM manual and found not faults. I did find a small vacuum leak near the throttle body. Put in a new vacuum line. Went for a drive and it still drove like crap. So I switched out the maf sensor. It got little better, throttle response had improved, but still surged so I changed the burn off relay. To no avail the surge was still there. At this point I had been screwing with the car for a little less than a week and was getting rather frustrated. I ran through the circuits again this time taking all the relays off and doing a continuity check on all the connectors. That's when I found the intermittent short on the fuel pump relay circuit 340. Changed the harness to the relay (changed the 20 amp in line fuse near the battery that had blown in the process WTF) and the car runs freakin perfect now. No codes.

Nevermind, code 36 still hanging around. I'm thinkning my ECM is suspect NO.1 according to the book with the ignition on CKT 900 should be energized, mine is not. Continuity on CKT 900 checks OK. Not to sure where to go from here at the moment.

did you try the simple task of removing the MAF sensor and spraying it with MAF sensor cleaner????

I did that as a first attempt, before changing the MAF sensor. I did just take of the "new" MAF and put the old back on and checked the burn off. I can see the wire hot glowing red when the car is shut off with the new one. Perhaps it was a combination of problems ,fuel pump relay harness, and a faulty MAF that can now go back to the store.

I kept getting code 33 a while back and all I had to do was use some cleaner on it... code went away.

WOW, So i put original MAF back in and saw the burn off. I had the relays off the brackets and the car ran great, put them back on car runs like ****. So I took of the burn off relay off the bracket car ran great. Put the relay back on, this time leaving the one screw off so there's not so much tension on the wires car runs great.
