Looking to put cold air intake/exhaust. Advice/tips?

Hey guys, i'm new on to this forum and i just finally purchased my first camaro (1988 camaro RS) . Im planning on doing a full tune up sometime this week, and after the tune up i'm looking into putting work on it, i've already decided that the first piece i'm going to put in is going to be a cold air intake. I read online and a lot of people say that the K&N cold air intake is a very good purchase, i see them at my local autozone but i dont know wether autozone sells a quality cold air intake. What other companies are well known for having quality products that'll fit my car.

k&n definitely seem to be a good product im purchasing a k&n Apollo cold air filter for my 91 in another week after my tuneup and will let you know how my results were. as far as parts from autozone goes I wouldn't buy performance parts from them. remember quality doesn't cost, it pays.

which engine does it have?
every third gen built came with a cold air setup of some sort on it, so do some research to find out if the one that you are going to spend a couple of hundred dollars on gives you more power than something like a cam swap or better exhaust that you can get for the same money...
