Crank no start. engine swap. vats?
Crank no start. engine swap. vats?
Swapped 89 Iroc 5.7 tpi motor, tranny, engine harness, and ecm into 87 k5 blazer.
I have spark, I have fuel to the rails, and have combustion(spray starter fluid and she'll turn over for as long as I spray)
which leads me to, No power to the injectors. Possibly VATS? I had VATS in the camaro, but I dont have it in my truck. Would the ecm tell the injectors not to have power if VATS is in the prom of the ecm?

No power to injectors or no injector pulse ; two completely different situations ?
Unless you have a custom tune removing VATS , then it makes no difference what vehicle the ECM is in , it will still be looking for a fuel enable input from the VATS module
before it will pulse the injectors.
If you don't want to pay for a custom tune , then buy something like this to generate the required fuel enable signal

I went on a hunch I had after making sure I knew the wiring was't the problem. I pulled the VATS module out of the car, hooked up the wiring that was coming out of the connector to that, except the "security light" and "starter relay enable" wires. cut the ppl/wht and wht/blk wire to the key cylinder and just pressed one wire to each side of my camaro key chip and it started right up. Thanks for the reply thought!
