Possible short wont start?
Possible short wont start?
So just about 2 days i went to go start my trans am, and as soon as i go and turn the key. It gave all the signs that my battery was dead. My radio wouldnt turn on and the windows wouldnt go up. I put the battery charger on the car all night. Woke up this mourning and tried to start it and the same thing happened.
Does anyone know what might be shorting or why this would be happening. I was thinking it could be my starter, since i already have problems with that.
any help is appreciated thanks

It's not a "short". That's an unintended connection between 2 things that aren't supposed to be connected,
More likely it's THE OPPOSITE OF a "short"; namely, a LACK OF connection between 2 things that ARE supposed to be connected.
Start at the battery cables; make sure they're clean and tight both at the batt end and at the other end. Start at the batt. Wash em in hot water and baking soda if they've got corrosion.

Continuing on Sofa's line of thinking. There are a couple of wires coming up from the starter that provide power inside the car. One of these happens to be a fuseable link which, if shorted open, will cause this type of issue. As Sofa said, start at the battery and work your way forward, especially if the battery shows 12v and tests good at your local parts store.
