Run off the Road, I need help/advice on new oil pan/pump due to crash
Hey all,
I was recently run off the road and bottomed out pretty hard when I went off the hard pavement.
I buggered up the oil pan pretty good the shop got it off the car. The crash broke the pickup off the pump, cracked/broke the pump shaft (where it goes up to the distributor) and finally the bolt that holds the pump to the bottom of the motor broke off inside the motor. They got the bolt off but it brought some of the motor with it where it mounts. Basically I need everything involved in oil pickup and delivery from the pan to the pump and all associated hardware. It doesn't look like anything serious and they are pretty confident it's just the metal around the bolt hole that came loose.
Anyway, I need to order new stuff. I have a 1998 350 in the car, so I need a 1-piece rear main seal pan and pan gasket right? Looking on Rock Auto, are these the parts I need? Equivilent CHEVY part numbers would be greatly helpful. Thanks in advance!
DORMAN Part # 264100
Doorman Oil Pan for 88 Firebird
Oil Pump:
DNJ Standard Oil Pump
Oil Pump Intermediate Shaft"
Steel Intermediate Shaft
Oil pump shaft: (not sure the difference between this and the one above)
Oil Pump Shaft
I couldn't find the "pickup" anywhere on there, hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction.
I'm just looking for advice/input here guys. Thanks again for any and all help you can provide!

Just my 2p......
For the oil pump, shaft and pickup I would stick with Sealed Power brand. The Sealed Power intermediate shaft you linked to will eliminate the need for the nylon shaft guide.
I think "shaft" and "intermediate shaft" are the same things.
Rock Auto has the pickup listed as, "oil pump screen".
The Dorman pan will be OK.
I hope there is enough thread left on the main bearing cap for the pump mounting bolt to hold on to.
