92 305 TBI to 88 305 TPI
My car came stock with a tbi motor, but the previous owner had started to convert to tpi. The car ran like crap for years so I gave in and replaced all the wiring. Matching up most of the components it looked like the previous owner had taken the tpi parts from an 88, so I replaced all of my engine wiring with 305 TPI wiring for an 88 camaro. I didn't realize there were so many differences between the tbi and tpi, engine sizes and years, so there are a few things I'm not so sure about.
1) if the wiring is set up for 88, do I need to replace my stock 92 knock sensor with an older one?
2) was the esc module external for 92 tbi? I currently have an external one, not sure if my computer is set up for an internal esc.
3) should I replace my 92 ecm with an 88? will that throw off my speedo?

I know this post is a few months old and you may have found this out already. But your 92 TBI is speed density and the 88 TPI uses a maf system. You're better off converting your stock harness to TPI and using a port modded EBL ecm. That is if you want to spend that kind of money. It's just a suggestion.
