Car wont start
Last week I put in a new steering wheel and fixed the horn to work. ( I say this just for information purposes as to when the car stopped working). I also removed parts of the steering column to tighten the tilt wheel bolts. There is a long black wire harness connecting the wires from the steering wheel assembly to the car. This connector snapped into 2 pieces with 5 pins on 1 and 4 pins on the other. I was able to get them back in the plug securley. I am 99.9% sure that when all was back together I started the car and it fired up.
a few days later I go to start the car and it turned over but would not start, not even act like it would start. Smell of fuel is very noticble. New fuel pump 2 months ago and rail pressure is a steady 45psi when first turned on and during cranking. I get spark to the plugs. Cap and rotor were just replaced but I changed rotor again. Pulled old plugs and the are wet. Tried drying them and putting back in. No changes. Changed plugs today Now car sounds like it wants to start but just wont get there if you know what I mean.
What I did notice today is when I turn the ignition on the check engine light does not illuminate. Will check buld. Also noticed today that the radiator fan does not turn on ( previous owner hotwired it to always run)
I believe I have checked all the fuses and all seem good ( under dash)
Other than the steering wheel and gorn change nothing has changed since last driven. Could be coincidence. could be I jacked something up. Its not a VATS key, so I believe if I had done anyting to the key cylinder it wouldnt even turn over.
Any ideas from the masses what to look at?
