Engine tick/knock on idle

I have a 91 z28 with the 350 and auto 700r4 and I noticed that when it is idling in gear only there is a slight tick in the engine. It only happens in OD, reverse, and the other gears at idle. Never in park or neutral. And once I give the car gas and is no longer idling the tick is gone. Anyone know what it could be?
