Camshaft bolt locking plate 4 step nose cam issue

Im wondering if there is a camshaft bolt locking plate for the later style roller cam with the step nose? The bolt pattern is smaller on the cam chain sprocket than the earlier style roller cams that dont have the step nose. If one is not available, im thinking of using lock washers with lock tight. Would that be good enough to keep them secured. Thanks

Didn't look that hard but never came across a flat for OE roller cams.

i just use Loctite on mine with no bad effects (yet)

i've never used anything but bolt torque to hold those bolts in, and never had them come loose...

if it's good enough for GM, it's good enough for me..

Not sure what you are refering to, but all the oe rollers were step nose. There are two styles of cam retainer plates, both for step nose but bolt spacing is different.

If its flat then its not an oe cam

Not the retaining plate, the bolt locking plate.

I ran into the same problem on the 383 build. Don't bother with lock washers, loctite will work fine.

Oh, that makes sense.

You really dont need one. Touch of locktite and torque alone will be enough. Oem never used one. 166k miles on my l98, never loosened
