Stall while running then won't restart
Just starting tune my car. 88 iroc lb9 auto
I drove it for first spin it always starts up on first turn and idles well had new raidiator put in seems to work not sure if fans cutting on
Well after 10 min drive to gas station let it idle as I got air
Drove home. It sounds like extra loud and smells rich just bogs when I step on it doesn't seem to shift down. But ok for first drive
Temp in tuner pro seems to work and the gauge on dash looked ok
It got to 220 then felt funny the as I pulled into garage just stalled
I tried restarting fired up and sound like it was fueling but nothing.
It didn't smoke or seemed overheated but it was hot as I tried some more I heard the overflow bubble
So is this a computer safety shutdown? Will it fire up again when cool? Any ideas ?

Re: Stall while running then won't restart
We'll update. Let the car cool. I tried to start same thing cranks but won't start
I don't think overheated
I hear bubbling in the gas tank after each start.
And I filled up and had a hard time adding gas kept stopping up pump like over flow
I had tank and fuel pump replaced. I wonder if it vapor locked up? I tried starting g with cap off and on
I know my canister has broken cracks vac lines too
Wonder if the canister went to vent and since leaking it created a vapor lock condition?

Re: Stall while running then won't restart
Well I pulled plug #1 and installed spark plug no spark then I tried at the coil no spark.
I had VATS uninstalled with old steering column no issues for months but not disabled in ECU
wonder if something tripped VATS?
can I test the ICM and COIL?

Re: Stall while running then won't restart
Fixed changed the cap rotor icm and sounded much better but didn't fire
Had 12 at the coil on a new advance auto coil
I put old one back in and it fired right up!
So it was coil all along but the cap and rotor were pretty tired and a few plug boots were broken so it sounds better at idle
