1987 Trans Am GTA 5.7 Issues

Ok first off I have searched

the forum and Can’t findwhat I am looking for

(although it’s a possibility I overlooked it) if this isin the wrong section please move to correct one.

Like the Title says I am working on a 1987 Pontiac TransAm GTA with the 5.7 motor. Its my wife’s car and it has been sitting a forabout 2 years. It has had a full tuneup, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pcv, air filter, fuel filter. Runs non ethanolgas, and has had a few cans of sea foam ran through it. Thereare no codes stored in the computer and the check engine light is off.

Car will start and idle fine, It idles around 800-900 RPM.If the car is in Neutral or park it while rev to red line with no issues atall. Once the car is in gear from Idle to roughly 2000 RPM car sputters, cutsout etc and once it reaches 2000 rpm it runs like a good ole 53.7 should run (in other words be hanging on the steering wheel). What confuses me about it iswhy will it rev correctly in Park or neutral with little to no hesitation orsputtering but when in gear it falls on its face spitting and sputtering till2000 rpm.

The car was running (on a a scale of 1-10) a 1 this weekend before full tune upand now I would consider it running a 6.5. It runs a lot better but its stillnot correct.

Anyone offer any insight to this?

Oh yeah my screen name represents my other hobby. Mudracing Atvs. I ride a canam oultander 840 cams,13.5/1 compression, intake work, head work, oversized valves, custom clutches etc.
