89 iroc-z dhutting off randomly

89 iroc-z dhutting off randomly
Hi, i am working on a 89 iroc-z for a guy. it has a 305 and 5 speed tranny. he said that when he is driving it randomly shuts off and is very inconsistent when it does shut off. he can not guess when its about to shut off. after it shuts off it wont start up until 5 minutes later. here is a list of things he changed or did:
tune up
fuel filter
distributor
Fuel injectors
Fuel pressure regulator
strainer/ float sending
Ecm (twice)
ignition switch
02 sensor
tps
egr valve
maf sensor
lac valve
ignition module
coil
2 relays
so can you guys help me out her and tell me what possibly it could be?

One question , when you state "distributor" , do you mean the cap and rotor or have you changed the entire distributor ? I ask because if you did only change the cap and rotor , and not the actual distributor itself , there is a "pickup coil" at the bottom of the distributor that your list doesn't specifically include , and that could cause your problem as well .
When it won't start , What's it NOT getting , Spark or fuel ? (If it cranks over with the starter , has proper compression , and spark + fuel , it should run)

I had the same problem. It sounds weird but I changed the wire going from the battery to the starter. problem went away. Go figure.
