Car: 1988 trans am gta
Engine: 5.7L V8 (L98)
Transmission: 4 speed auto
Axle/Gears: 3.07
Engine loses power at 2500rpm and won't start unless you spray gas in the intake
Hey my friends 1992 trans am GTAs engine Bogs out at 2500 rpms and won't start unless you spray gas in the intake he was told it might be a cam sensor. He changed the fuel pump in it already and the filter and still does the same thing...

there is no cam sensor on that engine.The catalytic converter could be plugged if one is still in place.

No cat on his car it has hooker headers into single 3 inch back dual out. Fuel pressure is good He also checked that

Monitor the fuel pressure while driving.
TPS may have a bad spot, usually in the range that's used the most - part throttle.

check the fpr and injectors ... to check the fpr, try to clamp off the rubber part of the return line most of the way, just dont leave it that way long
