Factory oil pressure sensor and autometer gauge hook up. Possible?
Ok I'm wondering if I can either hook up an autometer oil pressure gauge to a factory oil pressure sensor or hook up the factory oil pressure gauge to an autometer sensor.
Any ideas??

Need to know what resistance the Autometer gauge uses.
Some aftermarket gauges only work with their sender units

mechanical gages are more accurate.
install a 1/8 NPT brass "tee" fitting to the oil port location on the block, this way you can retain the stock electric gage sending unit and connect a mechanical gauge as well.

The factory gauge has allows for a reading of 0-60psi on a resistance of 0-90 Ohms. 0 resistance is 0 psi and 90 resistance is 60psi. If the autometer gauge is set up that way you are golden. If the gauge goes over 60psi for sure no.
