Not starting all of a sudden

Hi everyone, I have a 92 camaro 305 with an automatic trans. The car has a b&m megashifter in it. The shifter has been in the car 3+ years and ever since it was installed I would have to tilt the shifter towards me while turning the key to start something weird with the nss but this has never been a big issue since it always works when I tilt the shifter.
The car was running fine and has been starting with no issues until 2 days ago. I went outside to go to the store and when I went to start the car nothing happened. All the lights come on but when u turn the key to start the car nothing happens not even a clicking sound. The battery is 12.4 v. I took the starter out and had it tested and they said it was good. I tried to bypass the nss by connecting the thick purple wire to the thick green wire but still no luck.
I searched the forums and tried numerous solutions that others have tried with no luck.
When I put the starter back in I tested for power and the starter was getting power. The purple wire was not getting any power when trying to turn the car on. I changed the starter enable relay since it was a cheap fix and still no luck. Any other suggestions? Could this be a VATS issue? I looked up the thread about the VATS but I wasn't having any luck tracking down the wires. None of the wires under the dash seem to match the colors that the diagrams show.

Just thought you looked in to that first.

Correct me if I'm wrong but because the car didn't start when I bypass the nss wouldn't that tell me that the problem isn't the nss? Unless I am connecting the wrong wires when trying to bypass it.

Those are the right wires. Must be something else. My key got so worn and dirty i had to clean it. I all so used graphite in the lock and work the in and out several times then blew it out with a can of compressed air one would use to blow dirt for electronics. That worked short term. I bought a new key no problems yet.

The new key being thicker than the old one makes a better contact.

Re: Not starting all of a sudden

So I checked the codes and I got a code 53. So I tried to do the bypass on the vats. I check the resistance at the pellets and it was about 178 ohm. I went to radio shack and got 150 ohm resistors and cut the 2 small white wires and put the resistor in. I got the car to crank and turn over for a second but then the car dies.
Not sure what to try next? Do I need a bigger resistor?

The car fires if I spray stating fluid down the tbi. Stays on for a second or 2 then dies.

Re: Not starting all of a sudden

Member Vader's Tech Article on the VATS and PASSkey has a list of resistance for 15 keys. Your 150 ohm check make it sound like it your lock. What dose your key check?
