I have a 1991 Camaro RS v8 305 5.0L all stock straight pipes just bought it and it runs fine in park do what ever you want rev it or let it run but when you put it in reverse or drive and some times neutral it gets really low rpms and dies unless I give it gas and then I can drive it and it wont die out but when you stop at a stop sign or completely stop at all it will get to a low rpm and die unless more gas is applied does any one know whats going on with this and my starter makes a loud noise when engine starts do you think I need a new starter?

 

Timing, bad injecters, fuel pressure problems come to mind but thats just my 2 cents.
Be more descriptive on the starter noise--
Whine, grind, clang etc.....
