Running new Fan Relay wires; need help running power wire, quick pls!

Hey all im installing a new Fan relay kit for my 88 firebird (185F temp turn on) got everything done except grabbing power from the battery. The Power wire(red) runs from the relay to a circuit breaker, there connected on one side and connected on the other side is the wire running to the battery. They supplied a connector for the battery but im having trouble connecting it to the battery to gain power. It wont sit correctly for the bolt to actually start threading and seal correctly.
What im wondering is A- Should i even be grabbing power directly at the battery? if not where should i grab power. B- How should i be connecting to the battery? If i need to get a different connector thats fine, i just hope its available at a local auto parts start( oreilly, autozone)

This is the Relay kit i bought http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...10560/10002/-1

here are the instructions so you can see how it is being wired (for you visual peeps)
https://www.jegs.com/InstallationIns.../555-10560.pdf

Thanks all, like i said im done wiring all the other wires, i just dont know how to connect to the battery or where at!!!!

Pics of connector

Thanks!!

How’s it going Ghettobird52 ? Haven’t talked to you in a while.
Any way here’s the proper way to do it.

You connect it to the main junction block.

Here it is down next to the battery. That junction is HOT/live at all times. You MUST disconnect both the positive and negative cables from the battery before touching the junction block.

This is where I connect all of my power leads to. I do not cut into existing wire.
All of my" ignition on" hot wires go directly to the fuse block under the dash.
You will most likely need to use a smaller diameter connecter than that.

Here it is with the fat red and black wire connected to it.

That's a good place; another is, the far end of the big red batt cable, where it hooks to the starter. Yet another is, the stud on the back of the alt.

Once again Ron saves the day!!!!!!! LOL thanks man worked perfect! how are you doing man??? Hows the Maro? Other than the smog inspector calling out the fan setup i had before on his list of "failure items" im doing good. For some reason he said that because of the probe inside the radiator he would have to label it as "tampered" even if it passed Dumb!~!!!!! So i went ahead and ordered this kit, luckily was able to return the kit to autozone

Wow,
I can't quite remember if I had my controllers installed last time I went in for smog .
The guy I have been taking my car to for the last few years is pretty easy going but I don't know how he will act when he sees them.
Thanks for the heads up.
As far as the car goes it has been running better than it has in a long time.
Nice kit you bought. Got to love the diagram they gave in the instructions . Color and everything.

Yeah watch out, im pretty sure he wouldnt mind if you've been there before, ive had 2 hot smog's the past 4 years so i havent had to worry about my setup. Im finally attempting to get my setup cali-legal and i went to a local smog shop ive taken family member's cars there and he told me my list of "to fix" things lol. Headers, cat, and fan. He said no worries on the open element so i guess im getting lucky
