flywheel/ clutch help
ok so i have a 91 firebird with an 86 camaro engine/trans its a 305 t5, well i blew that engine up so i bought an 84 k10 truck engine (350) and i just realized that my flywheel/clutch from the 305 wont fit. so what is my options as far as that goes. the flywheel wont fit over the snout on the back of the engine the old flywheel looks to be 2 and 3/8" while my 305 flywheel is 2' or so. i didnt have vernier calipers to measure it. i just want this car to be done as it is finally warming up here in rhode island lol.
Thanks in advance

Are you sure about those years? 86 and 84 would both be 2 piece rear main engines, and everything should bolt up just fine. I would bet your 86 engine is an 87+ 1 piece RMS...

I bought the truck engine out of an 84 k10 and I did the block numbers and it said 80-85 truck, and I don't have the 305 block anymore but it may have been newer but I bought it carbd and if I'm not mistaken, 86 is the past year for carb stock?

I think the 305 was a 1 piece rms, and a previous owner put a carb on it. I think all you need is an earlier 2 piece rms flywheel and clutch. Do a search if that's all you need before you buy anything though, but I'm pretty sure that is the problem.

Re: flywheel/ clutch help
1986 is the first year for the one piece main seal and last year for non-roller cam lifters and perimeter bolt heads. The engine block is an odd ball one year part. Last year for the carburetor is 1987.
If you are trying to attach a one-piece main seal flywheel to a two-piece main seal crank, thats your problem right there.
