Idling issues

'88 Iroc with the L98, started having idling issues last year really bad to the point I almost got stuck, car just DID NOT want to start and stay running. It ran at very low RPMs and once I'd tap the gas it'd die. Brought it into the Chevy dealership and all they could tell me was maybe it was the IAC or MAF, so in brought it home and replaced the IAC, ran a little better but now I still have to keep my foot on the gas until it warms up awhile or it will just die, sometimes it'll run fine for awhile then bog down while idling, while driving it runs just fine. Just looking for a second opinion before I go replacing the MAF =\ thanks.

Re: Idling issues

The ECM is very intolerant of MAF errors. If the signal is lost or out of the acceptable ranges for about 600mS the fault code will set. If there are no codes, you might want to look elsewhere. If you want to test the MAF to be certain, used a voltmeter at the MAF terminals B and C:

That's the reason why I'm so lost on this, it DOES throw a code but when I check it, code 12: system normal. Every time. Haven't checked the MAF with a voltmeter yet I'll have to see how that goes.
