89Z won't start.. Little help please.

So about 6 months ago I decided to bring back my 89Z to life. I did the basic tune up and replaced fluids. I've been having this problem on and off and wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem and how I can fix it. On occasion, and doing it more and more often, my car won't turn on. The battery works fine, I replaced the battery cables with new ones thinking that was it, it worked for awhile but then the problem came back. Has new plat plugs, msd cap and rotor and new msd wires. at random times it will turn on as soon as I turn the key as if it were a brand new car, but when I tried turning it on last week the usual happened. I put the key in and everything electrical will work, windows, lights etc. but when I turn the key to start, nothing happens. The security light turns on and off after 2 secs, which by what I've read is normal. It doesn't crank as If it wants to turn on, absolutely nothing happens as if the battery were dead but it's not cause the battery is good. Help? Any advise or suggestions are appreciated.

Don't state if stick or auto.
The clutch safety switch on the clutch pedal or NSS on the shifter may be out of adjustment or faulty

Need to get a DVM and check for power all the way from Ign switch to starter to find out where it disappears

Sorry, it's a 5 speed. I'm going to have to check that out because I'm able to turn on the car without having to push the clutch which is really weird. Is it hard or expensive to swap out?

That switch is not a hard swap, or expensive. Look at your clutch pedal/linkage and find the switch and see if it's there or if someone has taken it out in the past. That switch being out or faulty would explain the issues you're having. Sometimes people with bypass the switch and put a toggle in somewhere in the car, and if that gets old then it will also cause these problems.
