Re: L98 head swap help
A van 350 is an LO5, not an L98. You can use the swirl-port heads, you'll get maybe 220 HP and it'll peak at 4000 RPM. If you want more, you need to find some pre-Vortec 300-HP 350 crate engine heads. 64cc, 1.94 / 1.50" valves, and centerbolt valve covers, but NOT swirl-port. I forgot the casting number. They are rare, even though a few made it into marine use. Neither is a good solution, but both should be cheap and easy. I'd run '081 heads from an LB9, but you may need higher octane if you keep the LO5 cam.

Re: L98 head swap help
Cute, but even legit L98s never had that RPO code anywhere on the block. Not cast in, not stamped in. L98 was for the paperwork. However, good luck differentiating a truck block from a Corvette block from a Trans Am block from a police caprice block except by the suffix code stamped on the RF deck above / behind the water pump pad. If you found L98 stamped, it wasn't GM who did the stamping. Never wise to argue with true experts just trying to win your argument. The best way for you to save face is to admit when you stand corrected.

The first thing you should buy to make that intake work is 65# /hr injectors. Once you get those installed come back and ask for cam advice

I put a production GM LT4 camshaft, 1.6:1 full roller rockers, edelbrock 3704 intake, 1" open center spacer, ultimate TBI moded TBI, doug thorley tri-ys, and tuned my own prom chip. The result was 255 RWHP/308 RWTQ, using STOCK swirl ports. This was with a massive mechanical engine fan, 2 piece driveshaft with carrier bearing, and a 9.5" 14 bolt corporate rear-end.

L98 came in vettes camaros and firebirds. Mid to late year 86 vettes got aluminum heads on L98. in 87 L98s started in the f-bodies but had the iron heads.

Wonder if that L98 van had TPI being it was certainly an L98 stamped and all.

Re: L98 head swap help
With ported 906 heads, a ported edelbrock 3817 base, production LT4 cam, 1.6:1 roller rockers and Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers into a dual 2.5" exhaust setup it was fun to show GT Mustangs, 5.3 trucks and those 6.0 Escalades and ML550 mercedes SUVs what an old G-van tailights looked like.
