exhaust questions

ok i am a newbie with headers and i know i should have probably posted this on the exhaust threads but i have a couple of questions about them. i am seeking on installing some but i am very confused with how ppl explained it on another thread but if you have headers what do you need in order to make your car smog legal in texas and which headers are legal and good enough for under $400? ive read the hooker 2055's are great but they just may be out of my range and theres some others i beleive they are the 2460's but still idk which would be good and best bang for the buck so idk and i dont really plan on making a true dual exhaust because of ground clearance just a bigger pipe up to the muffler and then dual outlets. any suggestions are welcome and thanks for any of your time that you spend on here trying to help me out.
also which types are better recommended shorty's or mid length?

Re: exhaust questions

Hooker 2055s and edelbrock are the only ones I believe are smog legal (have the A.I.R. tubes) I could be wrong. 2460s have no provision for them. PM tuned performance, he was selling a set of used edelbrocks a little while ago, they are no longer in production.

Re: exhaust questions

Air injection reaction, part of the emissions equipment. The tubes that go into the top of the exhaust manifolds.

Re: exhaust questions

That would be your call. Ceramics are more expensive for a reason. Here's some food for thought.
