89 Camaro with a 305 TPI manual, the car did not want to start after driven for a little while. Car will start up perfectly the first try but if I stop the car anywhere (like for gas) the car starts but very slow crank. Now if this happens a second time (I stop for something else) my car will crank slowly but will not start until it cools down. I just replaced the starter this morning and the problem continues. Not even 10 minutes driving on new starter and issue happening. Usually if I keep trying to crank the car will give up and stop cranking. Then I have to wait about an hour for a slow crank start. Car has fairly new post, terminals, and starter cables. Also the starter I replaced was in good condition.

I had this problem and it was heat soak on the starter I used to carry a sports bottle of water and I could squirt water on it and it would start I put a remote solenoid on it and no more problems. but mine would just click until it cooled.
