Brake Lights and Turn Signals
Today i went to get my car inspected and the turn signals would not work at all. Pulled the pod out and the panel to find a wire broken off, fixed it and put it back in. No brake lights at all after i pulled the pod or before and still nothing after i reattached it. Checked the switch with a circuit tester light and it works. Got a replacement flasher and only found 1 in the center of the car on blue wires. Not sure which one it is hazzard or turn signals but it didnt do anything at all when i changed it out. Hazzards dont work, no turn signals and no brake lights is what im stuck with at the moment and have absoutely no ideas other then the brake light switch which doesnt have any power going to the wires but all the fuses are good. I need to get it inspected and i need it to get to and from work. Any ideas?
Re: Brake Lights and Turn Signals
What year and what model? Some cars had integral tail and stop/turn lamps while some had turn lamps separate from the stop lamps. That makes a difference as to how power is routed through the turn signal switch and to the stop lamp switch.

Ordered in a brake light switch and a turn signal switch in case its either of them. All the bulbs are good. If they were bad id know and it would still attempt to signal.

Re: Brake Lights and Turn Signals
Since the Turn, HAZ, and STOP lights get thier power from the same source; I'd pull the STOP / HAZ fuse and replace it with another one,... just to BE SURE that it's got a good fuse !
The Light module controls just about all the lighting functions in the car,.... internal and external. Just because it's partially functional doesn't mean that it's "all good". 95% of the time only 1 of the functions they control go bad - while the rest work fine.
I can't be SURE what is causing you problems,.... but this will help you to figure out where bug is: ( you can see that you previously swapped the TURN flasher )

Not the brakelight switch. Going to change the turn signal switch around the column tomorrow. How many flashers are on the car? I can find the one near the gas pedal but i cant find the 2nd if there is one.

The one with the blue wire ( usually hanging by itself ) is the Turn flasher,
The Hazard flasher is mounted to the convenience center under the dash:

It's located under the pass side of the dash,... mounted "piggy-back" to the ECM; You can't miss it.
