Changed Air pump and Serpentine belt but Tensioner keeps moving out of place
Changed my air pump and serpentine belt last night. Drove home but Dr would stall out after a brief stoplight, start right back up no problem. I'm getting error code 33, but for some reason my tensioner isn't staying in place anymore. I'm not sure if this is the chicken or the egg, but after a couple seconds of being started up, the tensioner shoots back up the spot it was at to put the new belt in. How can I stop this?

What do you mean the tensioner shoots back up to the spot it was at to put the new belt on? The tensioner should always push against the belt, never away from it, its spring loaded. It sounds like you have a bad tensioner or the belt routed wrong.

I loosened the tensioner the wrong way and actually loosened the spring. couldnt tighten it enough so i just purchased a new one. The way i was putting the belt on before, i had the tensioner raised up near the alternator, rather than the middle of the engine
