Sorry, but I didn't see anywhere else to post this...my problem is that my heat just comes out of defrost vents, figure a vacuum leak. I looked under the hood, and found what may be the problem. I just don't know where it suppose to go. Can/will someone please tell me exactly where this goes? Thank you

The car is a 1990 Camaro RS, 350 [I know, came out with 305, swapped it with 350], TBI...

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
It goes right where it is.

A vacuum line plugs onto it.

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
I figured a vacuum line plugged into it...what I don't know is where the vacuum line is.

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
Seems fairly certain it's not in the pic.

That's about all we can tell you from out here.

That'd be about like me showing you a pic of my empty driveway and asking you where my car is.

Who knows what some PO did with stuff like that? Just gotta find it. My suggestion would be, identify where the 2 lines that ARE hooked to it are going, and then at least you'll know which is missing; and go look for it where it should be. Since that's a check valve and has 3 lines: one is the vacuum source, one is the line to the vacuum accumulator (Orb of Power), and one is the "output" sending low-vacuum-event protected vacuum to the system, shouldn't be too hard to figure out which isn't present.

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
one goes into wiring harness [ I guess the AC harness]...one goes to what I believe is the cruise control servo in front, driver's side, beside radiator...then there's this last one which looks like a check valve...that's the one that isn't plugged in to anything...

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
Vacuum source should be from the intake manifold.

The line to the cruise control should also tee off into the vacuum reservoir beneath it.

Bet your cruise control doesn't work either.

Expect to find a leak somewhere in the system if the PO has capped off the vacuum port source. May be a good idea to rent the mityvac from AZ or one of the others and check it all out before reconnecting.

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
yep, line to cruise T's off to ball canister, which I guess is the vacuum reservoir...
not sure about cruise control working...I never use it...
is there possibly a picture of the vacuum sources on this car so I will know where they are?...

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
TBI may be on the throttle body. Look for a port with a cap on it.

Re: heat/ac vacuum lines...
man...I've looked everywhere for a vacuum line or port for this check valve, or whatever it's called...I saw no plugged port/s on TB...only port on back of TB that I saw had a line going to it, but no 'T' fitting...wondering if I could buy a 'T' fitting and double up on that port?...also have not seen anywhere to plug it in on firewall...
I did take a piece of vacuum line, put on end of check valve[?] and put other end on vacuum port in front of TB where vacuum hose on breather goes...and, everything seemed to work ok...
