Cam for a 385 stoker

So I picked up a monte carlo ss with a 385 stroker that I plan on putting into the camaro with a HSR. The engine has less then 500 miles on it but has a flat cam lobe, so I need a new cam, I have been told the cam in the car is .525 lift, it had a good lope at 1000 rpm. Now I have been looking at some cams but I was leaning towards the comp cams CS 280H-10. Any opinions? Heres my setup right now:
385 stoker
113 aluminum heads
1.6 GMPP roller rockers
Flat top pistons
pro comp single plane intake
edelbrock 750
built 700R4 with a 3500 stall converter
4.10 gears

Re: Cam for a 385 stoker

Call the cam manufacturers hotline and ask them. I would however switch over to a HR cam, less chance of going flat on you, but if you must use a flat tappet cam get a zinc based lube for install and some zinc additive or it will be flat again in short order.

It runs on pump gas? That thing is near 12:1

Gonna need a big stick to bleed that compression off. Sure it has flat tops?

Re: Cam for a 385 stoker

I'm not just what I have been told, the guy said it can run on 93, but should be mixed with race gas. I was running it on 93 without hearing detonation/knocking. I need to get a borescope down the plug hole. The cam appears to not have had proper break in, or just a bad lifter as the rest looked fine.

Yeah flat tops and 64 cc in a 3.75 stroke is 11:1. 113 heads are 58 cc and could be approachin 12:1, i didnt run the calcs. Be careful with it

I don't plan on getting on it unless I'm running race gas. Might do e85 when it goes in the camaro
