Where do these hoses go? 88 gta, charcoal canister

For some background, I don't know a lot about cars. I bought this car to fix and learn as I go. It overheats and it's a little hard to start, if it's not started daily it gets harder.

I've started exploring the engine some and I found some hoses that aren't connected. Let's start with these 2 here:

the round thing, where the 1 hose become 2, says "purge vac"

I found this diagram:

edit - wrong diagram, see post below for underhood diagram

And I determined that the top hose must go here:

Am I correct? Can anyone tell me where the other hose goes? Once I've got this solved... I'll post some more stray hoses

Re: Where do these hoses go? 88 gta, charcoal canister

it seems to start a lot easier with the gas cap off, and I see there's gas dripping onto the block(?).. like in the center, visible from the passenger side, up from the throttle body

I think I found the right places for the hoses. I found a diagram on the underside of the hood. I sent the purge vac hose to the throttle body like in the picture and I sent the control vac hose to a box, pictured. It seems to slide in and get a little snug once it's all the way in. But it goes in so easily that I figure it's probably wrong.

No. The box is the Air control valve for the engine, the small line there needs to go ported vaccum.
The small line from the can goes to the tank vent valve which has two lines, one to the tank vent and one to ported vaccum.

The system is designed to vent air to the tank when the tank has lower than atmospheric pressure, and to vent fumes from the tank to the canister and to the engine when the reverse occurs.

If you want to learn GREAT! But get the Haynes manual for your car.

Do you still have the two stickers on the underside of the hood? They show the emission hose routing.

Hose didn't seem to fit up to that box so well but then I noticed a round thing with a dingy sticking out. Seems more in line with the diagram. Gas leak seems to have stopped but I'll keep a close eye on it. My hard start problem seems to be fixed, it's starting beautifully.

This is how I now have the hoses

The big box I was running the hose to seems to be the coolant bypass. Currently wondering if the hole I was incorrectly sticking the hose into is just a vent or if something should be there. It has a hose running to the firewall, and a hose running to the radiator.

And then there's this vacuum leak. Looks broken. I'll most likely be getting professional help with this issue..

The bare nipple is circled orange:

The tee-shaped hose that looks broken on one side (circled yellow in other pics):

Took this picture to show the tee-shaped hose and another loose hose coming from the same spot:
