91 Camaro RS 3.1 Timing Issues.?.
Hello everybody i need some help regarding 91 Camaro RS 3.1. So I have been fighting with this thing for two years to get it running and now i need some opinions/help. So my problem at the current moment is the timing. I got the car running a couple months ago then my friend came over and broke the distributor. So i got a new distributor put it in and it wont start. As far as i know we have the timing right. Everytime we try starting it cranks then backfires out the engine. I have replaced almost every part on the thing but if you think I need something please let me know i just want it fixed.

Looking at the engine, are the electrical connectors facing in the 9 o'clock general position?

Sounds like the distributor may be out 180*.
The other one that get folks is the location of the #1 cylinder. It is the passenger side front (not drivers side).
Firing order being 1-2-3-4-5-6
RBob.
