Ignition, firing, surely someone has had this issue!
Ignition, firing, surely someone has had this issue!
Here is what starting my 1991 z28 camaro is like....
Crank/Started
Crank/Started
Crank-click
crank-click
crank-click (then I'll crank and pump the gas pedal 3 or 4 times and it starts)
It might start fine, then the next 10 times it might only start if i pump the gas pedal...new fuel pump/filter.....starter replaced two years ago....cars runs pretty good and ALWAYS starts...it just might take several pumps.....
Also, if I pump the gas pedal to start is, drive 15 min and turn it off...it will start back up immediately...if I don't try to start is for an hour or two, it might start up fine or it might start while cranking the key and pumping the gas pedal.
Any ideas/thoughts?

Actual "pumping" only happens if the engine is carbureted. With EFI the variation of the TPS will skew the injector pulses and vary the cranking mixture, but only while the engine is cranking. The analysis for the problem would be different with each system, so which is it?
