B&M Megashifter shift indicator not working??

I took apart my B&M megashifter to change some of the parts (indicator window, stick, T-handle) and to put in a new plastic trim.

I can't get the shift indicator to work again. It worked fine before I took everything apart. The cable is fine. It's not kinked or anything. It's still clipped in on the right side with the E-clip, and it's still clipped on the left side where the red indicator is. The brackets are still fine on both sides too. I can pull the cable from either side and it moves the other side.

When I shift, it doesn't move the shift indicator though. I think the cable needs to be tighter or something.

Any advice?? I tried searching, but nothing I found helped. I have the B&M installation PDF, but that doesn't help either. My cable is routed correctly, and it has no kinks, it just won't move the shift indicator.

It must be something I'm not reinstalling correctly near the shifter window, because I didn't change anything on the right side. The nut and big washer should go on last right? First the plate that holds the letters/window, then the slider with the red shift indicator on it, then the bracket that holds the shift indicator cable, then finally the washer then the nut, right? I'm pretty sure that's how it was when I took it apart. Also, the bracket should be slid down as much as possible right? Or should it be slid up as much as possible?
