Is the IAC valve the same part for a 5.0 and a 5.7?

Engine: '89 L98 (5.7 TPI)
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
Is the IAC valve the same part for a 5.0 and a 5.7?

According to RockAuto, the IAC valves are not the same and not interchangeable. I pulled the IAC off the 86 5.0 and put in on the 89 5.7 when I put it in, because I had just recently bought it and it was newer than the IAC on the 5.7. Is is true that they aren't the same part, and this is possibly why my car has idle issues?
