anyone have bearing specifications?
I just got my 91 305 back from the machine shop today. I'm not sure what the main or rod bearing oil clearances should be. The shop gave me print-outs of all the specs, but that page was missing when I got home.
Here is what plastic-gauge measurements were:
Front to rear-
.0015 inch /.038 mm
.001 inch / .025 mm
.0015 inch / .038 mm
.0015 / .038
.002 / .051

Re: anyone have bearing specifications?
Looks reasonable to me.
Remember, it's not a race engine, that'll be run cold with straight 40 weight in it, 10% diluted with bypass methanol; it'll be street driven with 5W30.
Why in the world are you spending all that money on a 305 short block?

Re: anyone have bearing specifications?
I'm just looking for the spec numbers to make sure it's within tolerances. Do you have them?
Ugggh!!! The 305 comment is like hearing a broken record. But thanks. I'm not building a race car as you mentioned. The G92 TPI 305 is only a few horses shy of the 350 of the same vintage. It has a T5 which is questionable behind much more torque and hp than this engine has, and for once I've decided to keep a nice numbers matching, reliable, stock as possible club event car.
