Is my cam too small?
Is my cam too small?
Hey guys. I have a 350 with a Miniram, AFR 195 Eliminator Heads, Hooker 1 3/4" Longtube Headers, 1.6 Roller Rockers, 58 MM Power Products Throttle Body, MSD 6AL2 igntion box, D.U.I. distributor, Corsa true dual 2.5" exhaust with h pipe, and some other small miscellaneous modifications. I also have 3.75s in the rear.
This is a 1985 Corvette.
My current camshaft is TPiS' flat tappet version of the ZZ409 roller cam.
Again this is a FLAT TAPPET camshaft.
The specs of this camshaft are 224*/224*duration @ 0.050", 0.528"/0.528" valve lift with 1.6 roller rockers, and 112* LSA.
I only bring this car up to 6000 RPM MAX.
I personally don't think that the car has as much power as it should. I haven't dynoed it yet.
So this brings me to my next question. Is this a mismatched combination? Is the Miniram shining right as the cam is falling off?
Thanks.

Re: Is my cam too small?
No, for 6000 RPM max, it's definitely not too small.
