87 Z28 with CCC. Popping noises!

I have an 87 camaro with the CCC.
It has a popping noise (backfiring through the carb) that I am having problems diagnosing. Also it bogs extremely bad after the first 10 feet of driving. Pops less or not at all for 10 seconds when its stone cold.
adjusting the choke or holding the choke closed has no effect on the popping. Depressing the accelerator pump by hand (with no throttle movement) causes it to stumble, accelerator pump works well.

New fuel filter, new mechanical fuel pump, electric pump works (don't know about the specific pressure though) new fuel lines, new accelerator pump and carb gaskets, has a newer MSD coil (old coil failed a while back) and a new ICM just in case (old and new ICM make no difference, and have not since I bought one to keep in car). Adjusting the idle screws does not affect the popping very much, and adjusting the timing has almost no noticeable effect on it either. No slop in the timing chain. No smoke. All gauges normal. No codes.

In the video it is running by far the best I can get it running with the adjustments I know how to make. (it ran well for about 1000 miles after I purchased it and the popping problem started as just bogging and then bogging and popping over)

I will link to a video of it running.

Sounds like a bad valve, also sounds like a rocker or two is loose.

Re: 87 Z28 with CCC. Popping noises!

Found the problem!
one of my valves is barely moving, bad camshaft lobe or bad lifter I assume. Probably has stock camshaft.
Thanks for looking! (its got non adjustable rockers, I assume that means hydraulic cam/lifter setup with wiped lobes. We will know more soon)

Il post pics of what I find in a few days (oil change and then actual cam).

With hydraulic lifters, you just tighten the rocker just till it makes contact with the lifter rod, and your good to go. Sounds like one worked its way loose or else its the cam lobe or lifter rod like you said.
