1987 Camaro Iroc-Z Smog delete?

Hello fellow third gen owners, not sure if I am on the right forum for this. But I recently bought a 1987 Camaro iroc-Z three days. Absolutely love it! But I really need help from you guys on what I should do as far as smog delete. I live in an area that requires no smog. So what do you guys recommend about deleting smog and gutting it out? Is it reccomended? Or should I leave the engine how it is and just use normal bolt on upgrades as usual?
Please help me out.
Again I'm sorry if this isn't the right spot if it isn't can you guys please direct me to the right forum. Thank you.

If it is functional, you can just leave it until you get to a point in the build where you will be removing most things that it attaches to.

Not large gains from it's removal.
