help, ignition problem new 383 engine
Maybe you guys can help me, just finished my 383 stealth ram and fired for first time, I'm using a Holley commander 950 for the ecu, map. I am using a remote coil distributor from a 92 Camaro.
The engine fires and runs on 4 cyl.... It is not sparking on cyl 1,4,6,7 and runs on cylinders 8,3,5,2..... I found this out with a timing light. No back fires, just really rough. This distributor was a cardone new coil and dist bought from auto zone (I know not ideal but when I discovered my stock in cap coil wouldn't fit I had to get something on the fly and couldn't spend any more on the engine)
I got the wiring pig tails from a junker that looked fine and wired them up. All the colors match so it seemed straight forward. I am getting a tach signal so that is good, figure I will go have the ignition control mod tested tomorrow. Is there something I could have missed or a wire out of place? White is tach, pink is. Bat, the other two go to distributor, ground the square case around the coil. Then 4 wires match up.
I'm baffled.

What;s odd, is every other dead hole is in sequence for the firing order...may be a clue?
No experience with the Commander...but kinda think you have to start there (wiring, trouble shooting)
Edit
You also changed distributors
