Electronic Spark Control - Do I still need?

If I no longer have a knock sensor on my engine but I still have my HEI Distributor do I still have a reason to keep my ESC Module? I am trying to remove as much crap as possible...

If you still have the computer controlled distributor, yes, you still need it.
