fast question about torque arm bushing
I ordered this for my GTA: https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...php?pk=1137080
is it correct?
Mechanic told me he had to flip it in order to place it firm. Is it right?

Re: fast question about torque arm bushing
It is very possible.
There are 2 torque arm bushings for these cars. The only difference is which way the "W" feature of the arm itself, inside the rubber, is turned.
The other ES part #, for the one turned the other way, is 3110.
As far as I am aware, we have never figured out which cars got which bushing. It is not related to year model, engine/transmission, assembly plant, or any other obvious characteristic. We've all learned to order both and keep the one that doesn't fit the car we're working on, in case the next one we work on needs it.

Re: fast question about torque arm bushing
Thank you sofakingdom!!
So the component is correct, but you can't know its orientation.
Question is: filipping/rotating it, provided it stays firmly, is ok anyway? Or do I have to order the other part number?
thanks!!!!

It doesn't fit really "right" when it's turned around, but if it works, then ... it works.
If it was me, now that I know which one is right, I'd order it; and next time something else in that part of the car has to be disturbed, put it in at the same time.

Re: fast question about torque arm bushing
Thanks
but let's suppose that my bushing part is not correct. Ok, what should I make sure about? The arm doesn't move longitudinally? I know it has to have a vertical movement/play, but is there anything else I have to be SURE about it?

Re: fast question about torque arm bushing
The arm needs to be secure vertically (up and down) more than anything else, but should not move horizontally (side to side) very much either. Of course it has to remain able to slide front to rear freely, but the design of the parts should make sure that can always happen.
