Re: ID 350 1pc RMS and 2pc RMS

Casting number always works.
Suffix code works too

If you can look under the engine you can kinda see. You will be able to see part of the 1pc rear seal "holder" and the two small studs that holds it to block

If the engine's got the intake pulled or you can sneak a look down in a pulled off valve cover if it has lifter bosses it's definitely a roller motor.

True but not always a dead give away on 1pc vs. 2pc rms as the truck engines did not get roller cams until the vortec engine in '97

The casting number on the rear, top of trans bolt flange behind driver said head, suffix code on front pad in front of pass. side head and looking at the bottom back of crank it's self is the best ways of telling 1pc vs 2 pc.

I don't have the pictures but if you goggle sbc 1pc vs 2pc rear main seal crank I'm sure you will see pics showing the rear of both cranks and you will then for sure know the diff in looks. You can't miss it. One is a full circle (1pc seal) and the 2pc rear seal crank end has a round top, and notched and squared off on the bottom
