1991 trans am engine problems

Hi. I just bought a 1991 trans am. drove great, i notice it would stutter some, so I did a tune up new plugs and wires. The today driving it around town it acted like there was no gas, once I put some in it. It ideal's fines but when giving gas it starts to spit and sputter then stalls out. its 5.0 V8

I'd start with checking the fuel pressure. If it's low then you have a starting point to determine if you have a bad regulator, clogged filter or faulty pump.

Replace your fuel filter. Easy, cheap, and since you just bought the car you have no idea how old it is. That's where I'd start.

I replaced the fuel filter it started great and ran. took it for a nice drive. then I let is sit for a hr to go back out to start it. Hard start for a second then once it started. If you gave it any gas from ideal it would want to stall and spit and sputter also there was grey smoke coming out of tail pipes

Check if the OEM Multec injectors are still in the engine. If so replace them.

Re: 1991 trans am engine problems

is the check engine light on?? If so id recomend getting a code reaader. one of the best investments I made. you can alway check how muchpower the injectors are getting. one bad injector can make it run like crap. quick way to check is by unplugging the injector to see if its bad. just unplugging the one thats bad can make it run like normal. also could be the tps sensor on the throttlebody. when i purchased my 91 gta it would idle fine but when i tried to get on it it would fall flat on its face. swapped out the tps sensor and it ran fine.

No check engine light. I have notice it pop on if I drive for long periord of time then shuts off. But only after I've been driving it for 30 mins or longer
