Fuel Lines

Are the fuel lines from the tank to the fuel pump supposed to be metal on the fuel pump end? Mine have fuel hose between the end of the lines and the pump. There's been so many jury rigs on this car I'm not sure what's right and what's not.

There are rubber hoses back there from the lines on the body to the lines on the fuel sending unit/hanger. I am pretty sure the pressure line has a fitting on both ends, and the return line and other lines are just clamped.

Are you talking TPI or Carb? I have hoses on both lines from the tank on the fuel pump end by the engine...

Sgt. Skip, if you have a carb, there is supposed to be rubber line between the lines and the pump. It allows some flex when the engine moves while running. I think the rubber lines near the tank have the same purpose, but I don't know why the tank would move. Probably for removal/installation. If you remove the lines, I recommend replacing the cheesy stock spring clamps with real ones if it hasn't already been done.

Yea, there I was thinking TPI again

Anyways, yea its all rubber hoses with clamps, and the factory clamps while they look odd, work well. Just dont reuse them.
