There are two facts that don't change.One rust never sleeps.So you go and try and find a rust free third gen .Your going to look long and hard.If you do they are worth a good price .Second fact the parts always cost more than the whole.You can put a boat lode of money into a car and you will never get it back.I bought my 87 Iroc for $7,500.It's in beautiful condition. The parts are all new from the head lights back to the mufflers.I have a stack of receipts that total every bit of $30,000 from the seller.No B.S.

Only because you live in the North east region. I had that same problem living in Chicago. But cars out here in the South west and south are rust free and cheaper than what you would pay in the North east or rust belt. I really think it's the north east guys that are bidding up the prices of these cars on eBay. When I lived in Chicago I calculated it was cheaper for me to buy a south or south west car and fly out and drive it back or have it shipped to me than to buy the same condition car locally.
