Ported my 3.1 heads, should get them flowbenched?
I am considering putting on my ported 3.1L heads, but I was concerned that I may have messed something up. Here's basically what I have done to the heads:
* Smoothed the valve guide bosses on intake and exhaust sides into tear drop shapes.
*Intake gasket match, I did'nt hollow out the entire port, just basically did the gasket match and smoothed it into the port about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch.
*Smoothed the ridge just above the valve seat.
Thats basically it, I dont think I could have messed up to much as I was very careful not to reshape the countours of the ports, I basically smoothed them over.
I also plan on gettin .020 shaved off and slightly stiffer springs with a good valve job. I;m hoping this will all give me 8-12 hp when it is finished. The machinist worked on my heads when they were warped and did a very good job, all of the machine work will only cost me 150 total. By the time I get gaskets the total will only be around 200-220.
should I get them flowbenched to insure I didnt mess something p, or do you think I am ok? all input appreciated.

It's just a minor job; doesn't sound like you would've hurt yourself. If your car loses some performance, you might want to add an AFPR for extra fuel to compensate for the extra airflow.

I thought you were going to sell that car..

I would like a 89-90 305 tpi 5 speed firebird with the GTA ground effects, but I cant find one that looks good since most of them are ragged out these days.
