86 2.8 v6 .. stalls when gas is pressed

I have an 86 2.8 v6 ...it dosent do it all the time but when it does its very irritating. .. it starts fine but once I press the gas is drowns out and sometimes completely dies ..it was a high idle at times and I've noticed that most of the time when it acts up the idle gets very high ( no tach so I don't know the rpms) ...ive changed fuel filter , wires , cap and button ...also fixed a few vacuum leaks ...any suggestions ?

no sir, i have the same problem, only on cold starts though, once it warms up its okay so just try wasiting a few minutes before touvhing the gas and when you finally do press the gas, hold it for 15 seconds, thats usually what does it for me

You might have weak fuel pressure, dirty injectors, dirty maf, or a coolant temp sensor out of range.

Your Camaro has a carb & the other is fuel injected.

Did not notice that he had a fuel injected car, my bad, even if it is fuel injected thoug, cold starts could still cause it to bog out

Thanks for the suggestions ... I was leaning toward the temp sensor ...it started getting worse, it was like I would loose fuel pressure while driving and I would have to pull over cut car off and when cut back on it would drive ... the craziest thing though I cut the muffler off 2 days ago and I haven't had a problem since ,it actually drives a little better now
